Speculation on the future of a city where proximity and accessibility planning is taken to an extreme.

In this project Melbourne’s program, proximity, and pedestrian data are used to drive the planning of city blocks directly. The result is a flexible and modular architecture reminiscent of metabolism where each program and component has independent growth rules and requirements.

By defining and analysing the existing successes of the city of Melbourne the project aims to hyper-fixate on what it means to be a ‘liveable’ and ‘convenient city. The project explores ways architecture can be more fluid and how scripting and algorithms can be used as a diagrammatical tool for design.
