TEMPORALITY OF AND FOR THE LEFT OUT.

Cities today, foster centralized resource and commodity supply chains which lead to increasing income inequalities. The project is an attempt at recognizing an architect’s agency in decentralization to create a grass-roots system, catalysing an inclusive supply chain. Opportunities for the disadvantaged arise when critically observing program driven resource infrastructure in a city. A co- dependent supply chain works in the night to serve the disadvantaged and in the day, so that they can continually afford that service. Unoccupied spaces become areas to provide shelter to the disadvantaged who, at night use the now vacant kitchens of the restaurants in and near the block. Food is produced for the shelters for the next day. This comes at the added advantage of shelters not requiring kitchen facilities, reducing space requirements and increasing afford ability. The restaurants are paid for the use of their kitchens by the commercial activities that happen during the day. This commercial element in this project's case are taken as decentralized warehousing and last mile deliveries, which counters online retail and app based delivery markets, both of which promote income inequalities. A temporal built, flexes to accommodate variations in work or leisure, optimizing built resource requirements and increasing flexibility.
